Orchids blossom at Maison et Objet in Paris

For the first time, the exquisite beauty of orchids is seen at Maison et Objet design fair in Paris, adding a touch of nature’s artistry to this design and lifestyle exhibition. Floral designers Florian Seyd and Ueli Signer, from The Wunderkammer, skillfully incorporated a big variety of orchids into the stands of Mobach Ceramics and the Italian design powerhouse Abhika. Their work seamlessly merged the natural elegance of orchids with innovative design, creating an experience that was as enchanting as it was inspiring.

Orchids and design: a perfect match

Orchids and design are a perfect combination. Their unique shapes and vibrant colors add a touch of elegance to any creative display. This isn’t the first time orchids have been in the spotlight at a design event. They were also featured at Milan Design Week and Dutch Design Week, where they proved how well they complement modern art and design.

Stunning displays at Mobach Ceramics and Abhika

At Maison et Objet, Mobach Ceramics used orchids to highlight the simple beauty of their handcrafted pieces. The flowers created a natural and timeless look that fit perfectly with their designs. Meanwhile, Abhika used orchids in bold and luxurious ways, enhancing their eye-catching displays. These setups showed how orchids can adapt to different styles, from minimal to extravagant.

A favorite choice for designers

Thanks to Seyd and Signer’s creative talent, orchids became more than just decoration—they bring design to life. The displays at Maison et Objet showed how nature and design can work together to create something truly special. With their growing presence in the design world, orchids are becoming a favorite choice for designers. Whether in Paris, Milan, or other design capitals, they bring beauty and elegance to every space they touch.

An orchid fairytale forest at Mobach Ceramics

On November 7th and 8th, Mobach Ceramics in Utrecht is hosting open houses. Especially for this occasion, floral designers Florian Seyd and Ueli Signer of The Wunderkammer and their team have completely transformed the Mobach showroom into a wonderful fairytale forest. They masterfully incorporated a wide variety of orchids into unique, handmade ceramic designer vases. You are very welcome to visit Mobach, Kanaalweg 24 in Utrecht, to admire Mobach’s stunning ceramics combined with nature’s jewels: the orchid.

Orchids: juwels of nature

Floral designer Florian Seyd is a great orchid enthusiast. “The Oncidium Cherry Baby orchid is a fantastic orchid. Not only because it’s incredibly beautiful, but it also has an incredibly delicious vanilla scent. So, the fun of orchids isn’t just about the beautiful flowers, but if you zoom in on the different orchid varieties, you’ll discover different scents, textures, and tall and short varieties. And with this form, you’ll enjoy the color and the fragrance.”
