How to wrap an orchid as a gift

Gifting an orchid is always a good idea. The plant is beautiful on its own, but a gift should be wrapped. This requires a bit of care and attention to protect both the plant and its delicate flowers. Here is a short guide on how to wrap an orchid as a gift in a beautiful and safe way.

How to wrap an orchid as a gift

Necessities

  • Orchid
  • Wrapping paper or cellophane
  • Ribbon or string
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Optional decorative elements such as a label

Wrapping an orchid

First, choose wrapping paper that suits the occasion. Cellophane is a good choice for orchids because it allows you to see the plant while still providing some protection.

Place the orchid in the center of a large piece of cellophane. Fold the edges of the cellophane up around the pot and use tape to secure it in place.

Next, use a ribbon or string to tie a bow around the top of the cellophane. You can also use two types of ribbon to add a bit of extra colour. Optionally, you can attach a small label with a personal message to the ribbon.

Ta-da! A beautifully wrapped orchid—who wouldn’t want to receive this?
