From 8 to 13 April, the Dutch pavilion Masterly will light up the heart of Milan with a lush orchid installation. During the world-renowned Milan Design Week, Masterly serves as the ultimate stage for top-level Dutch design – and this year, orchids are blooming once again in the historic Palazzo Giureconsulti, just steps away from the iconic Duomo.

Orchidee Nederland has once again been selected to showcase a spectacular and diverse range of the highest quality Dutch orchids. From the moment visitors enter, it’s clear: design and orchids are a perfect match.

 

 

The power of contrast

Set against the palace’s classical white backdrop, the floral arrangements – crafted by Sand en Spijker from Delft – immediately catch the eye. Hundreds of long-flowering Phalaenopsis and exclusive orchid varieties are featured in a towering installation, beautifully enhanced by custom lighting from Aptum Lighting. Together, they breathe colour, elegance and life into this historic building.

 

Orchids at Dekker and Signify Lighting Design

New this year is a collaboration with kitchen and bathroom specialist Dekker Zevenhuizen – known for creating top-quality, custom-made, and eco-friendly countertops – and Signify Lighting Design – presenting revolutionary 3D-printed lighting. During Milan Design Week, the orchids will adorn the impressive joint presentation by Dekker and Signify Lighting Design.

 

 

A Milanese tradition in full bloom

What makes the experience even more special: on the final day of the event (13 April), the orchids will be handed out to the people of Milan – a cherished tradition that draws large crowds each year. Locals line up eagerly to receive a beautiful orchid to take home and enjoy long after the event ends.
